Two previous publications of the review series concerning the role of proteolysis focused on  molecular control mechanisms and functions of complete proteolysis of proteins and peptides. In this review  reactions of limited proteolysis, which are included to the control of active forms of main bioregulators of protein and peptide origin, are considered. Most common  reactions of limited proteolysis and their biological impact are also presented.
