Importance of troponins (I, T) for stratification and prognosis of acute coronary syndrome (abstract)
Recently demonstrated clinical value of troponin (I,Ò) determination outside the limits of its diagnostic use in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is considered: a) selection of patients with ACS at admission; b) determination of groups with high and low cardiac risk among patients with ACS; c) assessment of short-term and long-term prognosis; d) choice of adequate measures of treatment (intervention and drug therapy) and their optimization. The role of Tn in above stated cardiologic situations is considered in two main groups of patients with ACS: a) with stable elevation of ST-segment and b) without elevation of ST-segment (unstable angina and myocardial microinfarction), classified in accordance with the «Recommendations» of International Cardiologic Communities.
